That is a great question….
OPTION #1) Down block the blitzer with LT (king call…which is now a “down call”) and read the 5 tech.
OPTION #2) Ace block (which is now a “fan” call) and the wing blocks the blitzer at the LOS towards the center (the wing has to be as strong as the ILB)
OPTION #3) Down block the blitzer with LT (king call…which is now a “down call”) and the Wing down blocks the 5 tech. I used to use option #2 until we put in Baylor.
We now use option #1. If I am running 26/45 G.O. then my wings should be able to block the 5-tech however the TB has to understand to “bounce” one hole wider. This is classic example of sometimes just tipping your hat to the other sideline and say “good call defense”…. Remember, we snap the ball in 3 seconds from breaking the LOS, so often times we snap the ball before the defense gets a chance to blitz.
