Who is Coach Alexander?

Dewayne Alexander just finished his 2nd season coaching at his Alma Mater and has put Tennessee Tech back on the college football map with its first winning season since 2011 and only the 2nd winning season in 13 seasons. Tech was 1-10 when Coach A took over and achieved a bowl eligible record of 6-5 in the 2019 season.

Coach A has been a high school JV coach as well as a high school head coach.

  • Assistant coach at Hendersonville (Tenn.) High, between 1989 and 1996.
  • Head coach, assistant principal and athletic director at Jackson County (Tenn.) High from 1996 to 1997, leading the Blue Devils to a playoff berth.
  • Head coach, assistant principal and athletic director at Upperman High (Tenn.), from 1998 to 2001.
  • Offensive Coordinator at Gallatin (Tenn) High from 2001 to 2002, leading the Green Wave to a 10-3 record and an appearance in the TN state quarterfinals.
  • In 2003, Alexander took over the reins of 0-20 Wilson Central (Tenn.) team. He led them to a winning record in year two and a10-2 mark in year three, including the school's first-ever playoff win and a fifth place state ranking

At the collegiate level he has been both an assistant and head coach.

  • Running Backs coach ('97-'98), DL coach (2002), OL coach (2013) at Tennessee Tech.
  • Offensive Line coach at Tennessee State (2017)
  • Offensive Coordinator at Cumberland University (2016)
  • In January 2006, Alexander became the head coach at Cumberland University.
  • The NAIA program had only won four games in the previous three years.
  • first conference championship in 61 years and ranked 14th nationally.
  • AFCA NAIA Region 1 Coach of the Year (2010)
  • Won 23 games from 2010 to 2012, the best stretch in the program's then-76-year history.
  • Cumberland was ranked three straight years in the NAIA Top 25 for the first time.
  • In 2012, Cumberland led the nation with 16 NAIA Daktronics Scholar Athletes and 31 conference scholar-athletes.

A 1989 graduate of Tech with a bachelor’s degree in political science, followed by a master’s in educational leadership in 1998, Alexander lettered for three seasons with the Golden Eagles from 1985 to 1987.

Course 1: Formations Motions Tempos in Gun JetRocket Offense

Coach Alexander talks in detail about the language of his entire offense, covering names of various formations and the tags used with those formations to make a full play. He also covers his huddle philosophy and how this system makes communication fast and simple with his players, while causing problems for his opponents.

Course 2: POWER READ with and without Jet-Rocket Motion

How it deals with a problematic defensive end, especially at the D-1 level.

Coach Alexander demos Jet Power Read out of multiple sets, with and without motion.

Demos include successful implementation against a variety of defenses.

Coach Alexander goes into detail on the timing and type of personnel needed to run the Jet Power Read.

Also includes a QB Iso play that complements the Jet Power Read package.

Course 3: Gun Zone Option w/RPOs Using Jet & Rocket Motions
